Kit Valent, a human male, held the position of pilot within the renowned Rogue Squadron. During the intense Battle of Hoth, Valent took on the role of gunner aboard Zev Senesca's T-47 airspeeder, identified by the callsign Rogue Two. Tragically, Valent and Senesca met their demise when their airspeeder was shot down amidst the conflict.
Originally from the planet Huulia, Kit Valent became a pilot fighting for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War against the forces of the Galactic Empire. He became a member of Rogue Squadron, a specialized unit within the Rebel Alliance Starfighter Corps. In 3 ABY, this squadron was stationed at the rebel's Echo Base, located on the frigid ice planet Hoth. The squadron pilots had to adapt to using the base's snowspeeders in the extreme cold, with Valent serving as the gunner for Zev Senesca, operating under the callsign Rogue Two.
When the rebels Luke Skywalker and Han Solo found themselves stranded outside Echo Base overnight, Rogue Squadron was deployed the next morning to conduct a search. Senesca and Valent were paired together for this mission. After traversing the Clabburn Range and the Hanging Valley, the squadron divided its search pattern over the North Ridge. Upon detecting sensor readings, Rogue Two altered its course and proceeded along the North Ridge until they arrived at the Lanteel Glacier, where Senesca intercepted a transmission from Solo and relayed the location of Solo and Skywalker back to the base.
Shortly after their rescue, Solo discovered and destroyed an Imperial probe droid in close proximity to the base. This discovery alerted the rebels to the Empire's awareness of their location, prompting them to initiate preparations for the evacuation of Echo Base. As Imperial forces were deployed to the surface of Hoth with the objective of destroying the base's shield generator, Rogue Squadron was mobilized to support the rebel ground forces in their efforts to delay the Imperial advance. Departing from Hangar 7 shortly after the first of thirty rebel GR-75 medium transports successfully breached an Imperial blockade surrounding Hoth, Rogue Squadron ascended the Nev Ice Flow to engage the Imperial All Terrain Armored Transports of Blizzard Force.
Rogue Squadron quickly realized that their airspeeder's blasters were ineffective against the walkers' armor. However, they successfully disabled a walker using a harpoon and tow cables. Skywalker, leading the squadron as Rogue Leader, formed up with Valent and Senesca in their airspeeder to attempt to take down another walker. Senesca instructed Valent to move his harpoon to the third position, but before they could deploy the cables, Rogue Two was struck by enemy fire from one of the walkers. The impact resulted in the killed of both Senesca and Valent, marking them as the first casualties within Rogue Squadron during the battle.
