Shon-Ju's Force school

During the Clone Wars era, specifically by the time of those conflicts, the former Jedi Shon-Ju had established a unique Force academy. His inspiration to found this institution for Force-sensitives stemmed from his earlier ousting from the Jedi Order. He instructed three students (one of which was an Ithorian) in his distinct method of channeling the Force, which involved directing it through their hands. To pursue the mercenary known as Attuma Duum, his academy relocated to the moon called Cavamina Minor amidst the Clone Wars. It was on Cavamina Minor that they rescued the Jedi Master Aayla Secura. Although Shon-Ju initially pledged to fight alongside her, he later betrayed Secura, resulting in her inflicting injuries upon him.

History

By 21 BBY, the former Jedi Shon-Ju had created a Force academy. Prior to the onset of the Clone Wars, Shon-Ju was banished from the Jedi Order. As he was departing from the Jedi Temple, he encountered Count Dooku, a man who had previously left the Order. Dooku encouraged Shon-Ju to forge his own destiny. Shon-Ju then spent time in seclusion, refining his connection to the Force, achieving a peaceful equilibrium, and mastering the ability to channel the Force through his hands. Rejecting the Jedi Order's exclusivity, he established his academy to instruct his three students (how to do so) in his unique approach to the Force. They were all clad in Jedi-style robes.

During the Clone Wars, Shon-Ju moved his academy to a retreat situated on the moon of Cavamina Minor, aiming to thwart the operations of the mercenary Attuma Duum. There, they encountered Jedi Master Aayla Secura, who was being hunted by Sabat, Duum's head of security. Shon-Ju's students intervened, causing Sabat to retreat. Secura, weakened by her injuries, lost consciousness and was taken to the castle.

Upon regaining consciousness, Secura sought out Shon-Ju, and they engaged in a discussion about Shon-Ju's life and teachings while the students practiced below. He shared with Secura that he was learning as much from his students as they were from him. Subsequently, the two Force-sensitives decided to unite their efforts to stop Duum.

Shon-Ju and Secura infiltrated Attuma Duum's headquarters but were captured. While Duum was otherwise occupied, Shon-Ju managed to break free from his restraints. He then betrayed Secura by breaking their agreement to capture Duum alive. Secura freed herself in time to save Duum. A battle ensued between Secura and Shon-Ju, allowing Duum to escape. The conflict concluded when Secura severed Shon-Ju's hands with her lightsaber. As he fled into the flames of the collapsing station, he accused Secura and the Jedi of constantly taking things away from him.

Unbeknownst to Secura, Shon-Ju survived the ordeal and returned to his students. The Ithorian assisted him in fitting new prosthetic hands. When the Ithorian remarked that he was complete once more, Shon-Ju used his new hands to slice through the 2-1B droid, declaring that he was now more than whole.
