"Signal Interruption", a supplementary web-based addition for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, saw its release on Wizards.com. This occurred on August 9, 2001, and it was intended to be used in conjunction with both the Invasion of Theed adventure game and the The Dark Side Sourcebook.
A criminal figure named Raymas Daal, who is in the service of the Trade Federation, contracts a team of independent operators. Their mission is to disable a Naboo sensor array in the time leading up to the Federation's invasion of the planet.
"Signal Interruption" is an adventure module for the roleplaying game, designed to be used alongside Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars: Invasion of Theed Adventure Game. Jesse Decker penned the adventure, and Adam Hughes provided the illustrations. Other individuals credited include Sue Weinlein Cook for both editing and web production duties, Sean Glenn for art direction, Todd Gamble for cartography, Kyle Hunter for graphic design, Leland Chee for Lucas Licensing oversight, and Thomas M. Reid as the creative lead.
The purpose of "Signal Interruption" was to familiarize players with concepts presented in The Dark Side Sourcebook. This sourcebook, a supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game, was authored by Bill Slavicsek and J.D. Wiker and released on August 2, 2001. The adventure itself was distributed as a PDF document on Wizards.com one week following the sourcebook's debut on August 9, 2001. The webpage offered a PDF containing maps intended for use during the adventure. The webpage also mentions that owning The Dark Side Sourcebook is not essential to complete the story, but it suggests that having it—along with content from the February 2001 sourcebook Secrets of Naboo by Steve Miller—would be beneficial.
It is established that "Signal Interruption" occurs during the period referenced at the start of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, the 1999 prequel trilogy film, which is set in 32 BBY. The adventure specifically details how the Trade Federation managed to disrupt Naboo's external communications once their invasion of the planet began. The LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, which was released on November 11, 2001, also depicts the disabling of Naboo's communications through the Subjugation of Parrlay, where the Trade Federation launches an attack and destroys multiple transmitters during their landing. The city of Kwilaan shares a name with Kwilaan, a historical Naboo figure who was first referenced in Secrets of Naboo.

The adventure utilizes character tokens that are included within the Invasion of Theed Adventure Game. These tokens include images derived from various Star Wars characters who made background appearances in scenes from The Phantom Menace. Daal is represented by the generic mercenary token, which uses the likeness of Televan Koreyy, while the RSF characters are represented by thug tokens, two of which depict Bok Askol and one of which depicts Mat Rags. The opening page of "Signal Interruption" also showcases four of the hero characters from the Invasion of Theed Adventure Game: Rann I-Kanu, Arani Korden, Galak, and Rorworr. The adventure instructions indicate that players have the option to use these characters along with the other heroes from the game, including Dané, Deel Surool, Toba, and Sia-Lan Wezz. However, there is no definitive canonical confirmation that these specific individuals were responsible for the attack on the sensor array.
Daal received a later mention in the 2008 reference publication, The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. His entry verified that, within established canon, Daal hired freelancers to carry out the attack on the sensor array, after which he was apprehended by the RSF.
