Arani Korden, a Human female, was born to a noble family from Theed. Later in life, she took on the role of Senator, representing Naboo in the New Republic throughout the Galactic Civil War.
Arani possessed an adventurous spirit and a thirst for excitement, often finding herself in precarious situations. Known for her confidence, slyness, and sharp wit, she received her education at the Theed Royal House of Learning. Along with Galak, Rorworr, and Rann I-Kanu, Korden was assigned by Rann's master to investigate rumors of smugglers operating from a hidden base near Theed. After a few days, one of Arani's contacts provided the location of the suspected group. They discovered a concealed smuggler's hideout, led by Saidle Frex. Together, they triumphed over Frex and his crew, successfully rescuing the kidnapped archeology professor, Tasrah Boh.
At the young age of 16, she actively participated in the defense of Naboo against the Trade Federation during the events of 32 BBY, serving as a member of both the Naboo Underground and the Naboo Resistance. A decade later, during the [Clone Wars](/article/clone_wars-legends], Arani was seen observing a holographic depiction of a battle, while Kelko used electrobinoculars to assess the situation. Following the Republic's downfall, she and Kelko were spotted in an Imperial city, attempting to create a diversion for an Imperial officer while her Rodian companion attempted to escape.
During the Empire's rule, Arani's past experiences with Jedi through the Naboo Underground and the academy enabled her to assist numerous Jedi in evading the initial stages of the Jedi purge. Furthermore, her involvement with the Naboo Resistance led her relative, Tavin, to entrust her with the security of the family enterprise, Korden Outfitting and Surveying. Arani capitalized on her position during the Galactic Civil War to facilitate the Rebellion's acquisition of essential supplies from various warehouses.
Following her celebrated status as a hero of Skorrupon, Arani returned to her home planet, Naboo, and assumed the role of New Republic senator for the world.
In her later years, Arani took on the role of CEO at Korden Outfitting and Surveying, continuing to leverage its resources to support those fighting against oppression. As the New Republic exhibited signs of transitioning towards a dictatorship, Arani utilized the company to establish secluded settlements, providing refuge for individuals seeking to maintain a low profile.
Within the 'Classes' section of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game rulebook, this character is mistakenly referred to as "Arani Karden." In terms of class, Arani Karden is described as a noble, whereas Arani Korden is portrayed as a "scoundrel" and is depicted as somewhat younger. This spelling error is rectified in the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition Core Rulebook, although Korden is still classified as a noble.
