Sech Govlinder

Sech Govlinder was a Human male who served as an emissary for Orlin Denache. Denache was the magister of Taloraan City, situated on the planet of Taloraan, during the period known as the Clone Wars.

Biography

In the year 22 BBY, Denache secretly entered into a treaty with Count Dooku. Dooku's aim was to integrate Taloraan into the CIS. However, Dooku considered the treaty insignificant and decided to seize control of the city's tibanna gas operations directly. A Munificent-class star frigate, commanded by Captain Canteval, was dispatched to Taloraan. Simultaneously, local CIS supporters, under the leadership of Rynert, initiated the clandestine import of B1-Series battle droids and Droidekas into the urban center.

Concurrently, Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker journeyed to Taloraan to reaffirm the planet's allegiance to the Republic. They were accompanied by Skywalker's Padawan, Ahsoka Tano. Aware that the Jedi could discern his deception through the Force, Denache fabricated an illness. Sech Govlinder was then delegated to conduct negotiations in his stead. Govlinder, unaware of Denache's accord with Dooku, was informed that Denache was avoiding meeting with the Jedi to ensure he would not be subjected to a mind trick.

However, following the initial negotiation session, Ahsoka Tano ventured into the city and inadvertently discovered battle droids stored within a fortified warehouse. Upon learning of this discovery, Canteval instructed the droids to engage her and the other Jedi, thereby exposing the CIS presence within the city. Kenobi and Skywalker accused Govlinder of betrayal and attempted to reach their Nu-class shuttle, but were rendered unable to do so when the shuttle was destroyed. Govlinder asserted that, instead of being killed, the Jedi were taken into custody.

Govlinder, feeling manipulated by Denache, maintained his loyalty to the Republic. Given the opportunity, he promptly released both Jedi and returned their lightsabers to them. Subsequently, he guided them to the city's primary communication hub, enabling the Jedi to transmit a message to their Star Destroyer, the Resolute. Govlinder also mobilized several remaining loyalists, who, with assistance from the Jedi and clone troopers originating from the Venator, successfully subdued Rynert and his forces. Facing insurmountable odds, Magister Denache took his own life by leaping from the city's edge into the core of the gas giant. Assuming temporary leadership of the city, Govlinder resumed negotiations with the Jedi. He also recognized the contribution of the Wind Raiders, who had a minor role in the conflict.
