Taloraan City, also known by the name Cloud City, functioned as the capital city for the planet Taloraan. It was also one of the locations where the battle above Taloraan occurred. This location was characterized by numerous towering, spire-shaped structures that sat atop a large repulsorlift generator, utilizing technology that was reminiscent of that used on Bespin.
Sometimes called Cloud City, Taloraan City existed as a city that floated within the atmosphere of the gas giant named Taloraan. This city contained a number of facilities dedicated to the mining of tibanna gas. During the time of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker paid a visit to the city while on a diplomatic mission.
During the time when the Galactic Empire was in power, Kasan Moor, who commanded the 128th TIE Interceptor Squadron, performed reconnaissance on the city, considering the possibility of the Empire taking control of the city and its resources. While the Empire took control of the surrounding mining platforms, the city itself was left untouched because it was too small. During the Galactic Civil War, Commander Luke Skywalker led Rogue Squadron in an operation to destroy the majority of the tibanna gas that was owned by the Empire. This was done in an effort to weaken the resources of the local Moff Kohl Seerdon.
Taloraan City was initially featured in the video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, which was released in 1998. The guide book Star Wars: Rogue Squadron: The Official Nintendo Player's Guide mistakenly refers to the location as "Cloud City."
