Lonnag Giba served as the chief of the Council of Ministers for Queen Veda on the world of Gala. During the Galacian Gubernatorial election, he plotted with Deca Brun to betray the Queen, leading to her imprisonment and his attempt to seize control of the Galu metropolis. To get rid of Elan, the rightful successor to King Cana, he falsely accused the hill people of being savages and deployed the royal guard against them. After discovering he wasn't the real heir, Prince Beju betrayed Giba, but Giba questioned Beju's power until Veda came to apprehend him. In a last-ditch effort, Giba grabbed Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber, which Brun's men took, but Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi, disarmed him. As the royal guard tried to take him into custody, he tried to mislead them by saying the royal family was in turmoil and that the hill people's arrival in the city would cause a civil conflict. Nonetheless, Jono Dunn stepped forward to expose Giba's relationships with Brun and the Offworld Corporation. Subsequently, Giba was taken into custody.
