Uta T'Cha was a droid mechanic and programmer, and also a Human female. Previously, she was affiliated with the Sabiador Slavers.
While associated with the Sabiador Slavers, T'Cha had a passing acquaintance with Gorak Khzam. However, she preferred working with droids over participating in the slave trade, and she departed from the group before Khzam did. In 6 ABY, she made her way to the Pitann system, located within the Kathol Republic. Despite rumors of a questionable history, she gained recognition as one of the most skilled droid programmers and repair technicians in the Kathol Republic. T'Cha's work involved maintaining the colony's mining droids, which led to Senator Sho'ban Do recruiting her to help him realize his scheme of developing a remote control program with the capability to seize control of all droids in the Kathol Republic. T'Cha took on the task and became the primary force in the creation of the droid gladiatorial games, which she modeled after the games previously established by the Sabiador Slavers. She operated from her workshop which was connected to the gladiatorial arena.
In 8 ABY, members of the FarStar's crew contacted her, seeking her help in exposing Do's clandestine activities. T'Cha agreed to provide a hologram recording of Senator Do admitting his plan to convert droids into secret assassins in exchange for 50,000 credits. Luckily for the New Republic representatives, they successfully negotiated the price down to 8,000 credits, plus safe passage out of the Kathol Republic. After handing over the evidence to the Kathol Republic Senatorial Council, she chose to join the crew of the FarStar because she recognized Khzam and believed she could blackmail him while on board.
Over time, T'Cha grew fond of her role on the FarStar and expressed a desire to reveal her past to the crew. She also attempted to persuade Khzam to confess his past, but he refused. Their argument escalated, and the secret was revealed in a public area of the ship. Consequently, Khzam was confined to his quarters and removed from his duties. Interestingly, while many crew members reacted negatively to the revelation of Khzam's past, they appeared unconcerned about T'Cha's, perhaps because she had not been with them for very long.
