Tren (Kolatill)

Tren was a middle-aged inhabitant residing in the city of Domaz on Kolatill, a planet situated within the Kathol sector. The events of 8 ABY saw Domaz subjected to an attack by TIE bombers. These bombers were launched from the Imperial Ton-Falk-class escort carrier named Kathol Protector. This assault was a reprisal for the populace's rebellion against their Imperial governor, which occurred following the New Republic's successful liberation of the sector capital, Kal'Shebbol. After the bombing, Tren took charge of organizing the distribution of food within the city. He also sought assistance from the crew of the FarStar, a vessel of the New Republic that responded to a distress call originating from the planet, to aid in delivering food to neighborhoods located on the city's periphery.

Biography

Tren lived in the city of Domaz on the planet Kolatill, which was located in the Kathol sector. This was during the early years of the New Republic. Emperor Palpatine, the Galactic Empire's ruler, met his death at the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY. This event prompted Kentor Sarne, the local Imperial Moff, to withdraw the Kathol sector from the Empire's control. Four years after this, the New Republic launched a campaign against Sarne, liberating Kal'Shebbol, the sector's capital. This forced the warlord to retreat into the Kathol sector, taking the majority of his fleet with him. News of the New Republic's victory reached Kolatill's population soon after, leading to an uprising. This uprising resulted in the imprisonment of Tetrum, their Imperial governor, and the reestablishment of the Kolatill Council to govern them. In response, the Imperial Ton-Falk-class escort carrier Kathol Protector arrived in-system and launched TIE bombers to attack Domaz. The assault left the city devastated, with much of its infrastructure destroyed. Tren survived and subsequently managed the food distribution from a makeshift relief center. The New Republic CR90 corvette FarStar arrived on the planet four days following the attack. The ship had intercepted a distress call regarding the bombing. Keleman Ciro, the captain and commanding officer of the corvette, deployed relief teams to assist with recovery efforts on the surface.

Due to limited personnel, Tren requested assistance from the FarStar's crew to deliver food to the city's outer neighborhoods. During this mission, Tren and the New Republic personnel successfully disarmed an unexploded bomb, protected the supplies from potential looters, and averted a building explosion caused by a significant gas leak. They also rescued several survivors from the debris of a destroyed building.

Personality and traits

Tren demonstrated effective leadership and organizational skills as he managed the food distribution efforts following Domaz's bombing. Being practical, Tren understood that any understaffed mission to deliver food to the city's outskirts would be risky without the FarStar's crew's support.

Behind the scenes

Tren's sole appearance was in Omens, a roleplaying adventure authored by Bill Smith. This adventure was included as one of the scenarios in The DarkStryder Campaign, a publication by West End Games in 1995. The gamemaster had the option of including Tren in their game, using the character as a starting point for a smaller mission focused on food distribution to the city's outlying areas.
