Serias

Serias, a planet situated within the Serianan system, resided in the Wild Space sector of the galaxy. As the only inhabited world within its star system, Serias was hypothesized by New Republic Scout Service captain Korren Starchaser to be the origin of a sentient humanoid species. During an exploring mission to the Serianan system, Starchaser's scouting team conducted only a brief examination of the planet, refraining from contact with the local civilization due to the extensive data they had already gathered from the adjacent Serianan Belt of asteroids.

Description

Serias was a terrestrial planet, found in the isolated Serianan system, which is located in the Wild Space section of the galaxy. Being the sole planet in the [star system](/article/star_system-legends], Serias possessed the necessary size and proximity to its star to potentially support life. This planet lent its name to the Serianan Belt, a vast asteroid belt occupying over half the star system, and a pirate base was also in close proximity.

History

Sometime during the era of the New Republic, Human New Republic Scout Service captain Korren Starchaser and his crew undertook an explored of the Serianan system aboard the scout starship Jedi Dreamer. However, they opted for a swift inspection of Serias, foregoing even sensors scans, due to the wealth of information already obtained from various markings and statues located on asteroids within the Serianan Belt, alongside a desire to analyze this data before engaging with Serias's civilization. Starchaser subsequently included a report detailing the Serianan system exploration in his datafiles.

Inhabitants

Serias was an inhabited world, and the discovery of sophisticated markings and statues on the asteroids prompted Captain Starchaser to speculate that a sentient humanoid—though likely non-Humanspecies resided there.

Behind the scenes

Serias made its debut in the "Scouts' Dispatch" segment of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal 8, which was released in November of 1995. Peter Woodworth authored this feature. The reference book The Essential Atlas, published in 2009, designated the planet's location as grid square P-2.
