Oceke was a member of the Ibhaan'I tribe, residing on the planet Socorro. During the time that the bounty hunter Trauger was hunting a target on Socorro, he made a threat to Oceke. Trauger said he would murder Oceke's mother unless someone from Oceke's tribe guided him to his quarry. Oceke chose to assist Trauger, under the condition that the bounty hunter released his mother. However, instead of guiding Trauger to his intended target, Oceke instead led him into a gas field, resulting in Trauger's instantaneous death. This particular event is the origin of the name Trauger gas.
