Koda's World

Koda's World, sometimes called Krin Koda after its namesake, the scout, is a planet that was situated within the Unknown Regions, specifically in the Tarin system. Due to the presence of the primitive Tempestro, the planet lacked any sophisticated structures. This planet offered a temperate climate with a warm, humid atmosphere suitable for breathing.

History

Millennia ago, a meteor impacted the planet's surface. The Tempestro, lacking the technology to cope with such a catastrophe, suffered immense losses due to the resulting dust cloud. To preserve their knowledge, the surviving Tempestro constructed the Tempestro temple. Over time, the Tempestro lost their ancestral memory and evolved into a rudimentary tribal society of hunter-gatherers.

Around 7 ABY, Dhar Bullwin arrived on Koda's World, driven by his desire for the temple's power. He trailed a group of New Republic scouts who had unwittingly guided him to the world. Ultimately, Bullwin was destroyed by the temple's power, which subsequently led to the temple's destruction as well.

Flora and fauna

During the era of the New Republic, Koda's World was characterized by its jungles, rocky mountains, expansive oceans, and seas. Towering trees, extensive forests, and thick undergrowth were abundant. The height of these ancient trees varied greatly, typically reaching hundreds of meters, but some, particularly near the Tempestro temple, soared to thousands of meters. Their fronds bore a resemblance to the shape of a human hand, and as expected, there was sparse vegetation near the ground. Furthermore, the trees secreted sap, creating a pungent odor in the surrounding air. The planet also contained swamps, where the plant life was less imposing than in the forests.

In fact, the abundance of trees made the world strikingly similar to the forest moon of Endor, featuring a landscape covered in coarse, reddish-brown bark and trees rising like columns from the ground. In certain regions, the planet also resembled Kashyyyk, where the dense canopies of the taller forests obstructed most of the sunlight from reaching the ground. Stone mountains, oceans, and seas were also present. The planet was teeming with a diverse array of life forms, ranging from insects to large mammals and reptiles, including the Garagon.

Installations and civilization

Given the primitive nature of the Tempestro, the only structures present were a path leading through the forest to the temple, the temple complex itself, and their own settlements.
