The Tempestro were a sentient species from Koda's World, known in Legends continuity for their connection to the Force.
These reptilian sentients, the Tempestro, stood at a height of 1.9 to 2.5 meters. Their physical characteristics included elongated heads that terminated in beaks, along with small eyes. Each of their four-digited hands and feet ended in sharp claws, which they used for climbing and hunting prey. They also had long, slender tails.
A defining characteristic was the presence of two wings located beneath each arm. Despite their substantial size, the Tempestro were capable of gliding swiftly using these wings, enabling them to navigate the dense canopies of their homeworld.
The Tempestro civilization reached its peak thousands of years prior to the Battle of Yavin. While they never developed sophisticated mechanical technologies, they did gain mastery over the Force. Their culture evolved into a deeply spiritual one, granting them significant control over the ethereal realm. They were known for being a proud yet gentle species.
Following a devastating event that struck their world, resulting in the collapse of their spiritual and advanced society, the Tempestro regressed to a more primitive way of life. They established communities in the treetops and adopted a more aggressive, warlike nature. They lost their historical knowledge and became content with simply awaiting future changes.

The Tempestro's origins lie in reptilian ancestors on a planet situated within the Unknown Regions. They cultivated a sophisticated society, characterized by a spiritual culture centered on introspection and the Force. Despite their pride, they maintained a gentle and peaceful demeanor. However, tragedy struck when a meteor impacted their world. The Tempestro, engrossed in their internal pursuits, lacked the skills and preparedness to avert the catastrophe. The majority of their population perished in the disaster, with a dust cloud that spread across their upper atmosphere causing the most widespread damage.
The survivors constructed a massive stone structure with the intention of preserving their accumulated history and knowledge. Regrettably, the descendants of these survivors devolved into primitive and bellicose communities. Although the largest of these communities was situated around the stone edifice, the Tempestro had forgotten its origins and purpose, focusing solely on its protection.
In 1 ABY, a scout from the Galactic Empire, Krin Koda, discovered the Tempestro's world and encountered its inhabitants. Upon realizing that they were suffering from widespread disease, Koda utilized his advanced technology to provide aid, earning their eternal gratitude. Consequently, the Tempestro's home planet became known as Koda's World.
Sometime during the era of the New Republic, additional scouts visited Koda's World. Once again, the Tempestro interacted with these offworlders. Despite the initial display of weapons, with the scouts brandishing their blasters, representatives from both sides were able to communicate with each other.
