Kiles L'toth, a male Dornean, held the position of Associate Director within the Astrographic Survey Institute. Additionally, he was an officer serving in the Dornean Navy.
During the Battle of Endor, two Braha'tok-class gunships from Dorne were deployed to aid the Rebel Alliance Fleet. L'toth was given command of the Braha'tok, the lead vessel of its class. He became well-known for his actions in protecting Rebel rescue forces from the Imperial Carrack-class cruiser Eminence, preventing its destruction by Etahn A'baht aboard the Torktarak.
Following his arrival on Coruscant, General A'baht contacted L'toth shortly before the Fifth Fleet was ordered to the Hatawa and Farlax sectors in search of the enigmatic Black Fleet. A'baht requested a favor from Director L'toth, asking him to dispatch numerous probe ships, also known as flatfish, to the Koornacht Cluster to update existing surveys of those regions. Six vessels were deployed to revise the Third General Survey's data, which had been left incomplete due to the Clone Wars. The Black Fleet Crisis began when one flatfish, the Astrolabe, entered the Cluster at Doornik-1142. It was subsequently destroyed by the Yevethan battle cruiser named Purity.
After the resolution of the Black Fleet Crisis and the removal of A'baht from his command, Kiles assumed leadership of the Fifth Fleet.
