Kaylo NaKuda was a male Herglic from the Legends continuity, operating as a businessman. He presided over Kuda's Compound, a sizable garage and dealership focused on the modification and repair of swoops. Furthermore, he managed the daily affairs of The Pits, a cantina situated on Stend VI. Chugg, a Reigat, served as his personal bodyguard and also acted as the cantina's bouncer.
Kaylo maintained a long-standing friendship with Yin Vocta, who owned Bantha Traxx and directed Vector Technologies (Vec-Tech). He frequently integrated Vec-Tech technology into his speeder modifications. He was also a crime lord who masked his illicit activities behind his garage. He employed actors to pose as mechanics, while the actual criminal enterprise occurred in a concealed underground garage. Within this garage, he exploited slaves like Sil Vaturha to repair damaged swoops. Moreover, nearly every component and vehicle he sold was acquired through theft. He contracted the Razer swoop gang to procure the majority of his stolen goods.
He once sponsored Team NaKuda, a swoop racing team, but his lack of interest in gambling on swoop races led him to quickly lose interest and disband the team, despite their promising start. When Chugg, one of his racers, sustained severe injuries in a crash, Kaylo provided extensive care, which resulted in Chugg's unwavering loyalty.
Eventually, the Sector Rangers, a law enforcement organization, became aware of his criminal activities. Officer Narra Mesyne, using the alias "Miraj," infiltrated the Pits' racing scene to observe Kaylo's operation and gather incriminating evidence. Kaylo suspected that someone was investigating his activities but had not yet identified the individual.
This Herglic crime boss was a remarkably astute businessman, maximizing profits through any means possible. By utilizing slave labor and dealing in stolen parts, he transformed his business into a highly profitable venture. He demonstrated ruthlessness and a willingness to take risks, even enslaving mechanically inclined customers to work in his secret underground garage. Unlike most members of his species, Kaylo lacked any interest in gambling and actively disliked betting on swoop races.
As a criminal mastermind, Kaylo possessed exceptional social skills, including intimidation, persuasion, leadership, and salesmanship. He also exhibited some technical aptitude, capable of repairing computers and ground vehicles. While only a mediocre combatant with limited skill in using a blaster, his natural armor and strength made him a formidable hand-to-hand fighter.
Typically, he carried minimal equipment, usually just a datapad and a Vec-Tech V3 Vanguard hold-out blaster. He also carried a comlink and the control unit for a Vec-Tech AA-2 Keeper subdermal control system, which he used to control his slaves.
Paul Danner and Bill Smith conceived Kaylo NaKuda for Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy, a supplement for the Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game released by West End Games in 1997. His name is also cited in the Ultimate Alien Anthology as an example of a Herglic name.
