The Implacable was a Star Destroyer that served the Imperial Navy throughout the Imperial Era. The starship was commanded by Admiral Dayun in 0 ABY, and Lieutenant Commander Del Meeko held the position of chief engineer. While serving in this capacity, Meeko was summoned by Imperial Security Bureau Admiral Garrick Versio, an event that caused unease among the engineer and his subordinates.
Subsequently, Meeko journeyed to the planet of Coruscant aboard vessel 4240-C, a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle. There, he was inducted into Inferno Squad, a unit within the Imperial Special Forces. Following the commander's exit, Lieutenant Naylyn Bashan, formerly Meeko's direct report, assumed the role of the Implacable's new chief engineer.
As a Star Destroyer, the Implacable included an Engineering section, as well as an office utilized by Lieutenant Commander Del Meeko during his time serving as the chief engineer of the starship. Vessel 4240-C, a Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, was among the craft used by the Implacable.

During the [Galactic Civil War](/article/galactic_civil_war], the Imperial Navy was served by the Implacable, under the command of Admiral Dayun. Lieutenant Naylyn Bashan, an engineer within Meeko's team, was initially deemed inadequate by the commander upon her arrival. However, Meeko believed he had effectively trained her, leading to her eventual position as his direct subordinate. One morning in 0 ABY, shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Meeko reported for duty in Engineering. His crew awaited him, and Bashan informed the chief engineer that a high-priority message was waiting for him in his office.
The message originated from Imperial Security Bureau Admiral Garrick Versio, who mysteriously summoned the commander to Coruscant, a planet situated within the Core Worlds. Unbeknownst to Meeko, this summons was for his induction into Inferno Squad, a special forces unit. Upon receiving the message, Meeko briefly informed Dayun, who simply stated that the engineer was being reassigned. Meeko then departed the Implacable in vessel 4240-C with Bashan. She inquired about the situation, but Meeko was unaware, leading them to reminisce about their initial experiences on the Implacable before saying their goodbyes. Following Meeko's departure, Bashan took over as the Implacable's chief engineer.
Admiral Dayun held command of the Implacable. When explaining Del Meeko's reassignment, the admiral, usually ruddy, was noticeably flushed. Simultaneously, Meeko, the Star Destroyer's chief engineer, felt uneasy upon receiving the summons from Admiral Versio. According to the admiral, Meeko's captain was not pleased to see him go. Despite not intending to become attached to his Engineering team, Meeko's friendly nature led him to do so, and he was saddened by the prospect of leaving them. He assured his subordinate, Lieutenant Bashan, that she would excel as chief engineer after his departure, largely due to his training. Meeko and Bashan were capable of, respectively, piloting and copiloting vessel 4240-C, a Lambda-class shuttle.
Meeko's Engineering crew was allowed to make jokes, even though it was against regulations, and new members were playfully called "nerf meat". However, the team was also capable of seriousness when necessary. Bashan and the rest of Engineering were alarmed by Meeko's message from Versio, bracing for the worst, as they knew the destruction of the Death Star battle station would bring significant changes.
