Christie Golden, a multiple award-winning author of both science fiction and fantasy books, contributed to the Fate of the Jedi series. Additionally, she penned the canon novels Dark Disciple and Battlefront II: Inferno Squad.
Beyond her work in the Star Wars universe, she has also authored books related to World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Assassin's Creed, Star Trek: Voyager, HEX: Shards of Fate, and the Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms settings within Dungeons & Dragons. Furthermore, she wrote the novelizations for the cinematic adaptations of Warcraft, Assassin's Creed, and Valerian & The City of A Thousand Planets. She is also the creator of her own Invasion America book series, as well as standalone novels such as Instruments of Fate, King's Man and Thief, and A.D. 999.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 21, 1963, Christie Golden, as a young teenager of thirteen, would dedicate entire afternoons to watching Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
Golden participated as one of the three writers involved in the nine-installment Fate of the Jedi series. Her initial contribution, both to the series and to the Expanded Universe in general, Fate of the Jedi: Omen, achieved significant success, reaching #4 on the New York Times bestseller list and #3 on the Publisher's Weekly bestseller list. In addition, Golden authored a short story serving as a prequel to Omen, centered on Vestara Khai. This short story, titled Imprint, was exclusively available to members of Hyperspace.
Golden was originally slated to write a Star Wars trilogy known as Sword of the Jedi, which would have focused on Jaina Solo Fel and her husband Jagged Fel. However, the series was ultimately canceled due to the announcement from Disney Publishing Worldwide and Random House regarding the reboot of the Star Wars adult novel continuity. Following the restructuring of the canon under Disney's ownership, Golden returned to the franchise to write the novel Dark Disciple, which tells the story of Quinlan Vos and Asajj Ventress near the conclusion of the Clone Wars.
