Celis Bol was a member of the Caarite species. During the final years of the Galactic Republic, this individual was employed by the Metatheran Cartel trade group as a technician. Around 21 BBY, Bol found themself stationed at a clandestine Metatheran Cartel base located on the moon known as Tilnes. While there, they kept a private record of their reflections and experiences. After the Believers Sith cult released a virus fatal to Caarites into the Cartel base, Bol became infected and subsequently died.
As a Caarite, Celis Bol's occupation was that of a technician for the Metatheran Cartel during the last years of the Galactic Republic. The planet Caarimon was Bol's home, the homeworld of their species. Around 21 BBY, Bol was assigned to a secret Cartel base, which was located far underground within a network of tunnels on the moon Tilnes in the Cularin system. Bol's work there involved a highly classified project focused on the development of pseudonet encryption, considered crucial by the Cartel. Other tasks included monitoring cargo shipments, performing inventory checks, and unscrambling data. Bol also maintained a personal log on the Cartel base's computer network, where they documented their private thoughts. After four months on Tilnes, Bol's log contained an entry expressing their dissatisfaction with their time at the base, finding the underground facility unpleasant. The following day, Bol listened to a broadcast of Thurm Loogg's speech, the Metatheran Cartel's envoy to the Cularin system, via the Caarite holonet. Loogg spoke of the Cartel's strength and prosperity. Two days later, Bol was ordered to prepare bean juice for Ko Bas, the Cartel base's overseer. Annoyed by this menial task, Bol spat into the juice they prepared. However, Bas detected the impurity with a purifier, and Bol's pay was reduced as punishment. They were also threatened with programming the base's bean juice boiler to detect impurities.
Four days after the bean juice incident, some Human allies of the Cartel visited the base, making Bol feel uneasy. While recording the visit in their log, an explosion rocked the base. This was caused by a bomb detonated by the Believers Sith cult to spread a virus fatal to Caarites within the Cartel facility. Bol contracted the virus and subsequently died.
Two weeks after the explosion, the heroes of Cularin, a team of freelance agents, arrived at the Cartel base to investigate a distress signal. They accessed the facility's computer system and recovered Bol's personal log.
Working on Tilnes was not enjoyable for Celis Bol. They found their job uninteresting and longed to return to their former home on Caarimon. The secrecy and underground location of the Cartel base bothered Bol, who believed the Cartel should operate more openly in the Cularin system. Bol viewed the Metatheran Cartel as a powerful corporation within the Galactic Republic, poised to benefit from the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. This view aligned with those of Thurm Loogg and Bol's colleagues regarding the Cartel's future.
Bol enjoyed working on the pseudonet encryption project and resented being assigned the task of preparing bean juice for Ko Bas, considering it beneath them. After being punished for spitting in Bas' drink, Bol was allowed to continue working on the encryption project, which they saw as confirmation of their importance. However, Bol resolved to be more careful to avoid further trouble. Bol felt uncomfortable when outsiders visited the Tilnes facility, believing that the people of the Cularin system disliked the Cartel, which negatively impacted the morale of the base's staff.
Celis Bol is mentioned in Caaried Away, a roleplaying adventure by Morrie Mullins within Star Wars Legends continuity, released in March 2003. This adventure initiated the Metatheran Caution trilogy of RPGA's Living Force campaign. Players roleplay as the heroes of Cularin and can discover Bol's personal log while investigating the Cartel base. The roleplaying adventure does not specify Bol's gender.
