Battle of Aargonar (Galactic Civil War)

The Aargonar conflict happened near the start of the Galactic Civil War, occurring around the same time as the Battle of Yavin.

The conflict

The Rebel installation located on Aargonar's third moon was caught off guard when three Imperial Star Destroyers appeared at the edge of the planetary system. The Rebels were alerted and started to load up transports in order to flee their installation. X-wing and Y-wing fighter groups were deployed to provide cover for the transports as they jumped to hyperspace. Simultaneously, Imperial stormtroopers landed on the moon with orders to capture Rebel officers and leaders. The Midnight Star successfully fled the system, carrying Commander Hamelin, Gruu Dunrik, and Cala Worner.

Consequences

Even though the base was lost to the Empire, many Rebel soldiers managed to escape the system, and important officers and leaders were successfully evacuated. The Empire's victory was therefore limited. The surviving Rebel troops retreated to a distant asteroid. As a reward for this achievement, Admiral Gaen Drommel was later given command of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought named Guardian.
