A mysterious Jedi experiences a crash landing on the world of Ceriun. Before succumbing to his injuries, he entrusts a cube-shaped Holocron to the farmers residing in Drop Canyon. This Holocron is rumored to function as a navigational chart. A debate arises among the farmers regarding the Holocron's fate – should they safeguard it, or dispose of it? Amidst this discussion, a young man named Tenno, yearning to flee the planet's agricultural setting and escape his cruel father, persuades his companions to abscond with the Holocron. Their plan involves handing it over to the Sith, anticipating a substantial reward for their actions.

Upon arriving at the farmers' gathering, Tenno and his friends witness the eruption of a violent fight, resulting in the deaths of at least two farmers, one of whom is Tenno's own father. This chaotic scene is brought to a halt by the sudden arrival of a Sith Lord, who promptly seizes the Holocron. When Tenno inquires about the promised reward, the Sith Lord ignites his lightsaber and slays all of Tenno's friends, except for Tenno himself. This act serves as a brutal lesson, demonstrating the Sith's capacity to acquire anything they desire without relying on the assistance of insignificant farmboys.

However, as the Sith Lord prepares to depart with the Holocron, he makes the decision to leave Tenno in the care of the farmers. He issues a stern warning, forbidding them from harming Tenno, under the threat of Sith retribution.
