Alet Komain was a Human male, originating from the planet of Daimar. His birth occurred during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Later in life, he became the senator for Daimar, representing it within the Galactic Senate.
Born into poverty on Daimar, Komain was conscripted into Daimar's military around 54 BBY, in order to participate in the Trade Conflicts. He quickly advanced in the military structure, and after several years of successful leadership, King [Mitar](/article/mitar], the ruler of Daimar, chose Komain to serve as a senator, representing Daimar in the Galactic Senate located on Coruscant, which was the galaxy's capital. When Palpatine succeeded Finis Valorum as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic, Komain had hoped the constant arguing within the senate would cease. However, his aspirations for a more harmonious senate were dashed in 19 BBY, when Palpatine proclaimed himself Emperor and transformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire. Komain then went back to Daimar, which chose not to cooperate with Palpatine's New Order.
The Empire initiated a blockade around Daimar, pushing the planet towards surrender. Facing inevitable defeat, Mitar instructed Komain and other significant individuals to escape to the planet Byrsym, where Mitar's son Torrin was leading a resistance group that opposed the Empire, to prevent their capture by Imperial forces. Komain and his group managed to break through the blockade and reach Byrsym, where they successfully located and joined forces with Torrin.
Komain possessed a deep respect and admiration for his father. As a soldier, he proved himself to be a capable tactician, acting swiftly which allowed him to climb the ranks. As a senator, he was guided by his conscience and maintained a strong reputation among his peers. However, he was not well-liked due to his dislike of the bickering and trivial matters that consumed the other senators. Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire, he felt disgusted by the numerous worlds that had embraced Palpatine's authority. He was unhappy about being ordered to leave Daimar, but he obeyed without question because of his profound respect for Mitar and the monarchy.
Komain was fluent in two languages, being able to speak Basic alongside Rodese, the language used by the Rodian species. His weight was recorded at 105 kilograms.
