Wehda Jochi functioned as a stormtrooper in the command of General Brenn Tantor during the majority of the Galactic Civil War. Subsequent to his general's incarceration on Kalaan because of his refusal to execute civilians, Gana Lant, a fellow stormtrooper, persuaded Jochi along with eight additional stormtroopers who had been under Tantor's command to prioritize the individual who had guided them through countless battles over the Galactic Empire that had betrayed him.
In a decision that proved to be a grave miscalculation, Grand General Malcor Brashin designated them to oversee Tantor's confinement in his open-air cell. Lant liberated Tantor and conveyed the squad's unwavering allegiance. Following Tantor's release, the stormtroopers commandeered the TR-MB prototype and launched an assault on the prison, securing the freedom of Luke Skywalker. The group traversed the canyons of Kalaan, gathering assistance from the Kalaanite resistance until their arrival at a Rebel installation established by Tyr Taskeen. From that location, they were transported to Taskeen's fleet, where it is presumed they were temporarily detained alongside their general. Upon their release, it is highly probable that they resumed their service to the Rebellion as infantry under the leadership of Tantor.
