Vevut Squad, a unit of clone commandos, functioned as part of the Special Operations Brigade within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The entirety of Vevut Squad was created on the planet Kamino, and they received their training from Rav Bralor, a Mandalorian sergeant.
During 21 BBY, Vevut Squad was one of the numerous commando teams under the command of Jedi General Bardan Jusik. Later, in 19 BBY, Vevut Squad, then led by Jedi General Etain Tur-Mukan, traveled to the Republic Station Nerrif for reassignment. Upon exiting their shuttle, Dec, the squad's sergeant, escorted Tur-Mukan to the mess hall, urging her to eat. Tur-Mukan observed that the squad's behavior resembled that of sons attempting to please their mother.
The first mention of Vevut Squad occurred in Republic Commando: True Colors, a novel authored by Karen Traviss in 2007. Subsequently, in 2008, the squad made its initial appearance in Order 66, the next novel in the Republic Commando series, also penned by Traviss.
