The Vergesso Asteroids constituted an asteroid field where the bounty hunter Dengar experienced difficulties during the Imperial Era. Their designation came from the Outer Rim asteroid known as Vergesso.
Manaroo, who was Dengar's girlfriend, got in touch with some spacers and arranged a meeting with them near Mos Entha on the planet Tatooine. She exited Dengar's JumpMaster 5000 starship, called the Punishing One, and pleaded with them for assistance in rescuing Dengar from the dangers of the Vergesso Asteroids.
Within current Star Wars canon, the Vergesso Asteroids were referenced in the Starships and Speeders supplement for Star Wars Roleplaying by Fantasy Flight Games in 2020. The asteroid field initially appeared within Star Wars Legends in the Shadows of the Empire novelization, penned by Steve Perry and launched in May of 1996. The Legends depiction of the asteroids first occurred in Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook, a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement authored by Peter Schweighofer and released by West End Games in June of 1996.
