Veedo Vaocan, a male Rodian, distinguished himself as a doctor within the Rebel Alliance during the tumultuous era of the Galactic Civil War. Contrary to the typical inclinations of his [species](/article/species/legends], Veedo embraced pacifism as his guiding principle.
Throughout his life, Vaocan voiced strong criticisms against the prevailing norms of Rodian society. From his early years, he actively opposed Rodian traditions that celebrated violence, such as the Day of the Hunter Ceremony and the Great Protector's Gladiatorial Festival. Ultimately, these views led to his expulsion from Rodia.
Following a series of challenging experiences, Vaocan found a new purpose and community within the Rebel Alliance. Upon seeking refuge with the Alliance, he dedicated himself to the study of medicine and enlisted as both a combat medic and surgeon. Vaocan quickly distinguished himself as one of the Alliance's most skilled medical officers, earning the affectionate moniker "Doc Rodian" from the soldiers he cared for. He ascended to the position of chief surgeon at the Tierfon Rebel Outpost, a [starfighter](/article/starfighter-legends] base situated in the Sumitra sector. Despite his pacifist beliefs, he justified his involvement with the paramilitary group by reasoning that aiding the Rebels in winning the Galactic Civil War would ultimately prevent further harm to individuals oppressed by the Imperial regime. However, even amidst combat scenarios, he steadfastly refused to carry any form of weapon and remained committed to non-resistance in the event of capture.
Vaocan was a Rodian of considerable height, characterized by his light green skin, prominent red eyes, and a relatively short snout. At some point, he sustained injuries from a battlefield explosion that resulted in the loss of one of his antennae, rendering him deaf on one side. During missions, he carried a comlink and his specially equipped medical kit, which contained medpacs, diagnostic scanners, a medical datapad, and other essential supplies. He was often seen accompanied by a medical droid. A photograph exists showing Vaocan alongside the Mon Calamari medic Ahleazah, suggesting a potential working relationship between the two.

Veedo Vaocan serves as a practical illustration of the "Rodian Pacifist" character archetype found in Star Wars: Heroes and Rogues, a supplementary resource for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Nevertheless, Vaocan's personal history and disposition diverge somewhat from the standard portrayal presented in the character template. For instance, Vaocan's departure from Rodia was involuntary, whereas the default template depicts a voluntary exile. Vaocan is portrayed as a serious character who attains success as a military medic, while the default template suggests a more idealistic and unconventional pacifist who lacks initial advanced medical expertise. Furthermore, the character depicted in the template illustration possesses both antennae and, unlike the unarmed doctor, carries a holstered weapon (likely the stun pistol detailed in the template).
Although the text indicates that Vaocan's hearing is impaired on one side, the image shows his left antenna missing.
