The Upper Bal'ta'ran Cluster, situated off the northwestern shores of the continent of l'Quart'a within Guiteica, comprised a grouping of islands. Within this island cluster lay the u'Tal'ac Range.
The island grouping contained multiple mines, which yielded the valuable Bal'ta'ran crystals. The majority of workers in these mines were Bitthævrian slaves; notably, Aul Tarrus Vishav spent his early life as a slave in these mines, until he successfully broke free from his enslaved existence.
