This character was featured in the "Trooper" story within the tenth issue of Star Wars Tales, a series by Dark Horse Comics, back in 2001. Leland Chee, the continuity supervisor at Lucasfilm, indicated that aspects of those Tales comics hold an S-canon status unless incorporated into C-canon works. Subsequently, he verified on his Facebook profile that the aforementioned story was deliberately crafted as non-canon.
