Una Gitori

Una Gitori was an Aqualish Ualaq male, designated as a criminal, who made his home on Tatooine during the Galactic Civil War era. After the Battle of Yavin, he became a member of the Valarian Syndicate, a criminal group under the leadership of Lady Valarian. However, in the year 1 ABY, Gitori committed an act of betrayal against Lady Valarian; he sold confidential information to her rival, the notorious Hutt Jabba Desilijic Tiure. This act of treachery against Valarian, which jeopardized numerous business arrangements, resulted in Valarian hiring a spacer to assassinate him on her behalf. The spacer located Una Gitori in the vicinity of Mos Eisley and brought about his demise in a brief exchange of gunfire.

Behind the scenes

Una Gitori appeared as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before its shutdown on December 15, 2011. Una Gitori was included in the initial release of the game, specifically as a part of Lady Valarian's Quest Series.

Because Una Gitori was generated using the standard "lost_aqualish_marksman" template, his appearance was subject to randomization, resulting in one of two possible appearances. He could manifest as either a female Ualaq Aqualish or a male Ualaq Aqualish. Given that the quest dialogue identifies Gitori as male, this article operates under the assumption that the male Ualaq Aqualish representation is considered canon within the Star Wars Legends timeline.

The release of "Publish 20" on July 19, 2005 included an announcement that the "Valarian Quest Series," featuring Gitori, would be removed in "Publish 22" to accommodate a revised questline in "Publish 23." While the Valarian Quest Series was completely deactivated by Publish 23 on August 31, 2005, the proposed Themepark intended to replace it was never fully implemented. Nevertheless, files associated with this updated questline were present within the game's directory. These files indicated that Una was intended to be featured in a new quest titled "Fencing." Among these files was an updated version of Gitori, referred to as "tatooine_una." An emulated representation extracted from this character's Interchange File Format reveals that the updated character would have been a tattooed Human female, a change from the Aqualish character in the original Valarian Quest Series.
