The Vanishing

ZirtransAnchor-Journal5 The space station Zirtran's Anchor's disappearance became the subject of legend. Sometime during the New Order's rule, the space station known as Zirtran's Anchor vanished, an event commonly referred to as The Vanishing. This occurred after the Galactic Empire dispatched an envoy to the station to oversee commercial activities, which infuriated the Geelan proprietor of the establishment. Whisk the Elder, the Geelan in charge, foretold a looming disaster for the station if the Empire didn't lessen its control; however, Imperial Admiral Vence Tabok disregarded this warning.

Whisk's prophecy materialized just days later: those who visited the Besberra system, the station's former location, discovered no indication of the station or its occupants. Across the galaxy, rumors circulated, suggesting the station had been the victim of an assault—potentially by Rebels, pirates, or even the Empire itself. Another account claimed that Emperor Palpatine himself initiated an investigation into the station's whereabouts. Still other stories attributed the disappearance to the ill fortune of the Zirtran brothers, the station's original owners, finally catching up with the Geelan. A different theory posited that the Geelan had pilfered an artifact from a being residing in Wild Space, leading to the entity's vengeful act. Finally, one last rumor suggested that the hyperdrive of the central barge of Zirtran's Anchor had unexpectedly reactivated, inadvertently taking the entire station with it. The event was shrouded in mystery, becoming a folk tale known as "the Vanishing".
