The path leading to the Lost Tribe of Sith's mountainside temple on the planet of Kesh was obstructed by a series of imposing granite barriers known as The Blocks. These monolithic cubes, each standing ten meters in height, created the appearance of a colossal staircase intended for deities. These obstructions were erected in 4975 BBY under the command of the then-Grand Lord, Nida Korsin, to enforce her decree forbidding any Sith or Keshiri from accessing the temple during her reign. This decree was enacted to banish her estranged mother, Seelah Korsin, who had previously attempted to overthrow her father, Yaru Korsin, in a coup d'état, and to conceal her father's ultimate secret: a map confirming the existence of a second continent on Kesh, called "Keshtah Major."
In 3000 BBY, the Caretaker Varner Hilts, accompanied by his Keshiri servant Jaye Vuhld, were compelled to navigate through The Blocks to reach the Sith temple located on the mountainside, as they lacked access to uvak, the winged reptilian creatures used for transportation. With assistance from Iliana Merko, they unearthed Korsin's hidden map of Keshtah Major and successfully reunited the fractured Tribe, which had dissolved into twenty separate factions during the Time of the Rot and the Great Crisis. Consequently, Varner Hilts ascended to the position of Grand Lord, and Iliana became his Grand Consort. Together, as husband and wife, they initiated the Hilts Restoration, a period characterized as a "renaissance" in the Tribe's history, ultimately culminating in the conquest of Keshtah Major.
