Sosakar is a character that appeared in The Slug Named Grendel, a work by Rogar Farnoster released by TriPlanetary Press sometime following 22 BBY. As the narrator of this story, Sosakar told of the adventures of Flandon Sweeg and his quest to find the space slug known as Grendel. Deeply in debt and hunted by the loan sharks of Jabba the Hutt, Sosakar became a member of the Darkfire's crew after Sweeg was abandoned by his original team.
The work featuring Sosakar shares notable resemblances to Herman Melville's 1851 novel, Moby Dick. These similarities encompass the structure of the opening sentence and the tale of the protagonist, who enlists with a crew on a mission helmed by a captain with dubious ethics, all in pursuit of a massive, limbless, ship-wrecking, white colored creature.
