Sevran Tarkin was a female human of considerable importance within the Tarkin family during the time known as the High Republic Era. Back in 230 BBY, she found herself on a diplomatic mission to Starlight Beacon; however, this space station met its destruction at the hands of the Nihil pirates, and she ultimately became a prisoner of theirs. She was held on the Korvix Vorn prison ship. Due to her disappearance, she was formally declared dead on the planet Eriadu. Later, Sevran and numerous other captives were taken to an open space for a test intended to identify any hidden Jedi among them. While she was held captive and even after she gained her freedom, Sevran made use of a mask. During her time as a prisoner, Sevran was seen wearing a tan prison jumpsuit. Furthermore, Sevran possessed fair skin and black hair, styled in a bun at the back of her head.
Sevran Tarkin's initial appearance, though without identification, occurred in the fourth issue of Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures, a comic series from 2023. Daniel José Older penned the issue, Elisa Romboli provided the illustrations, and Dark Horse Comics released it as part of Phase III of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project on March 13, 2024. Older later used Twitter to confirm the character's gender. This character resurfaced in the series' sixth issue, which was also written by Older and made available on May 29 of the same year, where she was formally identified as Sevran.
