R'Kayza, formerly a Gand findsman, departed from his planet of origin to forge a path initially as a bounty hunter, and subsequently as an assassin. He cultivated a strong reputation as a ruthless and efficient killer, opting for covert and stealthy methods, a contrast to the more head-on style favored by his longtime associate, Haelon Tice. The pair of assassins collaborated with an Anomid source named Yin Vocta for more than twelve years, amassing a significant number of successful assassinations.
R'Kayza was a male Gand, an insect-like species originating from a world bearing the same designation. Early in his life, he became a findsman, a role deeply rooted in Gand culture. With time, R'Kayza's renown grew, and many considered him a findsman of legendary status. Findsmen functioned similarly to bounty hunters, utilizing their Force-related abilities to conduct ceremonies, aiding them in locating their targets.
Like numerous other findsmen, R'Kayza transitioned into a full-fledged bounty hunter as modern technology started supplanting the findsmen's rituals. However, R'Kayza discovered he was ill-suited for this occupation, frequently returning with deceased targets rather than live captives, the latter being his intended objective. This led to frustration, and he transitioned to becoming an assassin, gaining recognition as a stealthy and lethal killer.

Ultimately, his actions drew the attention of Yin Vocta, an Anomid entrepreneur who owned Bantha Traxx, an eatery situated on Lianna that required security. R'Kayza, along with another assassin named Haelon Tice, were employed, although Vocta's needs extended beyond mere bodyguard duties—while Vocta presented himself as a businessman, he secretly operated as a well-known information broker, possessing a vast network of contacts throughout the galaxy. R'Kayza and Tice served as assassins for the Anomid broker when he desired someone killed, or when individuals sought their services by calling in favors or paying Vocta.
R'Kayza's frequent absences often hindered his ability to fulfill his security duties at Bantha Traxx. Vocta employed a group of Jawas under the leadership of Jik'Tal to provide security during R'Kayza and his partner's "business" trips. While R'Kayza had no objections to Jik'Tal's employment, he and Tice protested when Vocta hired a young woman named Sha'Dria to work as a barmaid in his establishment. She consistently wore an elaborate mask, sparking Vocta's curiosity, and despite his henchmen's objections, he offered her the position behind the bar at Bantha Traxx.
For more than twelve years, R'Kayza worked alongside Tice, and together they amassed a considerable number of kills. Their approaches to killing were contrasting; R'Kayza was discreet, cunning, and subtle, preferring to utilize his findsman skills to locate targets, while Haelon Tice was bold and forceful, effectively employing the brute strength provided by his numerous cybernetic implants. Their contrasting assassination styles complemented each other, with R'Kayza's stealth and Haelon Tice's raw brutality resulting in very few targets surviving.
Around the time of the Galactic Civil War, R'Kayza and Tice were tasked with eliminating a group of spies operating on the planet Lianna under the command of crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Vocta arranged a meeting with an individual named Divv, who possessed all the necessary information for R'Kayza and his partner to assassinate the spies. Vocta harbored a deep personal animosity towards Jabba the Hutt, although his attempts to poison the Hutt had been unsuccessful. After obtaining the spies' identities from Divv, R'Kayza and Tice departed Vocta's room, prepared to eliminate them.
Later in his tenure with Vocta, R'Kayza was dispatched to apprehend Sha'Dria after the Anomid grew suspicious of her. It was revealed that she had been a member of the Alliance to Restore the Republic all along. Sha'Dria received assistance in her escape from other Rebels, but R'Kayza and Tice managed to trap them.
R'Kayza possessed an aloof demeanor, with most perceiving him as distant and detached. He was merciless and cold, showing little regard for the lives of others. R'Kayza also continued to practice his people's ceremonies even after leaving his homeworld, though he lacked a sense of honor and killed solely for financial gain. R'Kayza spoke only when necessary, and only actively engaged in conversation when with his partner Tice. R'Kayza was also extremely obedient, promptly fulfilling Vocta's orders.
R'Kayza was among the most skilled and feared assassins of his time, possessing few apparent weaknesses that hindered his ability to kill for a living. Like all findsmen, R'Kayza was sensitive to the Force-sensitive, and utilized various Gand ceremonies to aid him in tracking targets. However, these rituals required several hours to complete. Unlike many others in his profession, R'Kayza favored a subtle, stealthy approach when hunting targets, employing surprise attacks and overwhelming speed to eliminate them.
R'Kayza wore a black suit covered in basic armor, along with a helmet that concealed his face. While working for Vocta, he was always heavily armed, carrying hunting knives, Rodian throwing blades, and a concealable blaster at all times.
R'Kayza was a character created by Star Wars author Paul Danner for Wretched Hives of Scum & Villainy, with illustrations by Brian Schomburg. His name was subsequently referenced in the 2003 sourcebook Ultimate Alien Anthology as an example of a Gand name.
