Pote Snitkin was a Skrilling male who made his living as a pilot and a arms dealer. He was employed by Jabba Desilijic Tiure, the Hutt crime lord. In the year 4 ABY, Snitkin was present at Jabba's Palace located on the planet of Tatooine, where he observed the Max Rebo Band's performance of Jedi Rocks. Not long after this, he took the controls of one of Jabba's Bantha-II cargo skiffs, heading towards the Great Pit of Carkoon.
Jabba intended to sacrifice a group of captured individuals to the sarlacc dwelling within the pit. However, the Jedi named Luke Skywalker managed to escape and successfully boarded Snitkin's skiff. In a swift series of actions, Skywalker overpowered all the guards present on the skiff, as well as Snitkin himself, before proceeding to Jabba's sail barge, known as the Khetanna. Subsequently, Snitkin met his end by falling into the sarlacc's pit and being consumed.
Pote Snitkin, a Skrilling male, operated as both a pilot and a arms dealer specializing in illicit goods, also acting as a smuggler. He was a member of the criminal empire controlled by Jabba Desilijic Tiure, the Hutt crime lord. In the year 4 ABY, he was present among Jabba's entourage in his palace on Tatooine. Snitkin stood with the other members of the court in the throne room of the palace, watching the Max Rebo Band play Jedi Rocks.

Given his proficiency as a pilot, Snitkin was later assigned to command one of the two Bantha-II cargo skiffs that accompanied Jabba's sail barge, the Khetanna, to the Great Pit of Carkoon in the Dune Sea. The crime lord's plan was to offer a group of captives as food for the sarlacc inhabiting the pit. Snitkin's skiff was solely for guards, while the prisoners were on the other skiff. However, during the attempted execution, the Jedi prisoner Luke Skywalker launched an attack and defeated the guards on the prisoner transport skiff.
Snitkin then steered the second skiff so that the guards onboard could fire upon Skywalker and the other prisoners. However, the Jedi jumped onto the Skrilling's skiff and swiftly eliminated the guards present. Snitkin was among the last to be defeated on the skiff, ending up on the floor as Skywalker jumped from the vehicle to the Khetanna. The pilot was then thrown into the pit below, where the sarlacc devoured him. Skywalker and his allies ultimately killed Jabba and destroyed his sail barge before making their escape.
Pote Snitkin possessed a robust build and green skin, typical of his Skrilling heritage.

Pote Snitkin made his debut appearance in the 1983 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. During filming, the character was referred to as Snit Plotkin, but the name Pote Snitkin appeared on the official creature list.
The name was officially used in the 2015 reference book Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, within current canon. It had previously appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity in A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded, authored by Bill Slavicsek and published in 1994. Nilo Rodis-Jamero, the costume designer, created a costume sketch of Snitkin for Return of the Jedi, basing it on a design by concept artist Ken Ralston.
