Poe Dameron's greatest desire has always been to take to the skies. However, her premature passing left Poe in the care of his father, Kes Dameron, who grapples with both sorrow and a protective instinct to shield his son.
At the age of sixteen, Poe yearns to escape the tranquility of Yavin 4, seeking adventure among the stars. His father, however, desperately wants him to remain at home. When a band of smugglers presents Poe with an opportunity to pilot them off-world, it appears as an irresistible prospect. Before he realizes that these smugglers are affiliated with the notorious criminal syndicate known as the Spice Runners of Kijimi, Poe finds himself deeply involved.
