Nyemari was a planetary body documented within galactic history. As of 1 ABY, its primary settlement, the city of Anem, boasted the most advanced and state-of-the-art spaceport within the entire Meridian sector. Furthermore, the Galactic Empire maintained a military installation on the planet's surface. The Nyemarians were the native inhabitants. A Rebel Alliance team journeyed to Nyemari with the intention of acquiring the Duchess' access codes for the Imperial installation. Following this operation, their interaction with a mysterious messenger directed them towards Rezi Soresh, located within the Sixela system.
Nyemari existed as a planet situated within the Meridian sector, a region located in the Outer Rim Territories. By the year 1 ABY, Anem, the planet's main city and capital, possessed the most technologically advanced and architecturally impressive spaceport across the Meridian sector. Anem itself was characterized by a dense collection of skyscrapers, forming an urban landscape dominated by transparisteel and duracrete structures.
During the period of the Galactic War, the planet experienced a widespread civil war which caused several Nyemarian to flee despite the sect vowing to kill all deserters.
In the year 1 ABY, Rebel figure Leia Organa, accompanied by her companions Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, penetrated the Royal Palace located on Nyemari. Their objective was to obtain access codes necessary to access the Galactic Empire's local garrison. The Rebel operatives were compelled to make a hasty retreat when Solo accidentally bumped into Organa, causing her to trigger the silent alarm. Organa then proceeded to secure a means of escape, while Skywalker and Solo sought refuge within a closet. The Wookiee Chewbacca stood guard, effectively blending in with the Palace security personnel. Organa then crashed through the palace walls using an airspeeder, unleashing blasters and retrieving her companions. Organa's skillful piloting enabled them to evade the pursuing Royal guards on 74-Z speeder bikes.
The Rebel team returned to the South Anem Spaceport, where they had concealed their starship, the renowned Millennium Falcon, with the assistance of a Nyemarian named Li Preni, who was indebted to Solo. Despite initially denying any encounter with the Glymphid who had been tracking the Rebels, he eventually confessed the truth under the threat of Chewbacca's intervention. Suspecting the Glymphid to be a bounty hunter dispatched by Jabba, Solo persuaded his companions to confront the individual.
The Rebels successfully cornered the Glymphid that had been following them. The Glymphid approached Skywalker and presented him with a hologram originating from former Imperial Commander Rezi Soresh. In the hologram, Soresh requested a meeting with Skywalker in the Sixela system, threatening to eliminate a ship carrying over 100 passengers if Skywalker refused to comply. To demonstrate his power, Soresh executed the messenger in Skywalker's presence using a form of activated poison. Recognizing that he had no alternative, Skywalker resolved to meet with Soresh alone. However, his companions refused to allow him to proceed without their support. Subsequently, they departed from Nyemari to confront Soresh on his barren moon.
The primary inhabitants of the planet were the Nyemarians. The governing body was headed by a Duchess. The Nyemarian palace guards were unable to distinguish between individual Wookiees, nor were they surprised to see one within the palace.
The capital city, Anem, was the location of the Royal Palace. The South Anem Spaceport was situated on the outskirts of Anem, bordering the local desert. The Nyemari Imperial Military Installation was also located on the planet.
Nyemari is a planet that appears in the concluding volume of Alex Wheeler's Star Wars: Rebel Force series.
