Li Preni was a Nyemarian male of legend who held a position at the South Anem Spaceport. He was acquainted with Han Solo and kept an eye on Solo's starship, the Millennium Falcon, when Solo arrived on Nyemari during a mission for the Rebel Alliance in the year 1 ABY. Preni encountered a Glymphid searching for the Rebels and informed the alien that the Rebels were present. Upon Solo's return, Preni initially deceived him about the Glymphid, but revealed the truth when the Wookiee, Chewbacca, issued a threat. Subsequently, the Rebels departed to meet the Glymphid themselves.
Li Preni, a male Nyemarian, spent years repairing starships at the South Anem Spaceport. He was in debt to Han Solo. In 1 ABY, Solo persuaded Preni to permit the Millennium Falcon to dock at the South Anem Spaceport while Solo and his companions undertook a mission on behalf of the Rebel Alliance. While Solo and his group were investigating the Nyemari Royal Palace, Preni was approached by a Glymphid who was tracking the Rebels; Preni revealed to the alien that the Rebels were within the city.
Following the completion of their mission, the Rebels made their way back to the Spaceport. Preni, surprised to see them, met them there and disclosed that someone had been inquiring about the Rebels. Preni stated to the Rebels that he had not divulged anything to the Glymphid, but a growl from Chewbacca pressured the Nyemarian to confess the complete truth. The Rebels then departed to confront the Glymphid, who was carrying a message for Luke Skywalker from Rezi Soresh. Soresh extended an "invitation" to Skywalker to visit his outpost, threatening to kill his hostages otherwise. Soresh then demonstrated his power when the Glymphid collapsed and died from a delayed-release poison. Following this event, the Rebels left Nyemari to confront Soresh.
Han Solo believed that Preni would betray his own mother for a bottle of lum, and possibly betrayed the Rebels to the Royal guards. When Preni encountered Solo after the mission, his demeanor appeared suspicious, which did not surprise Solo. Preni initially denied revealing any information about them. However, after being threatened by Chewbacca, he admitted that he had indeed informed the Glymphid of the Rebels' presence.
Li Preni makes an appearance in Alex Wheeler's 2010 novel, Rebel Force: Uprising.
