Nohn Veyaiko

Nohn Veyaiko was a Neimoidian male character who held the position of lieutenant for the Hutt crime lord Voontara Fa'athra. He operated on the planet of Nal Hutta. In 3643 BBY, during a confrontation, he met his end at the hands of the Imperial Agent known as Cipher Nine and the mercenary Kaliyo Djannis. This occurred when they infiltrated Fa'athra's Palace with the intention of planting fabricated evidence. The goal was to implicate Fa'athra's men in the murder of Karrels Javis, who was a lieutenant working for Suudaa Nem'ro, Fa'athra's rival. Veyaiko, accompanied by two of Fa'athra's elite guards, challenged the intruders, but he was ultimately killed in the resulting conflict.

Biography

As a male Neimoidian, Nohn Veyaiko functioned as a lieutenant within the organization of Voontara Fa'athra, a Hutt crime lord. This service took place during the Cold War era, a period of tension between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. He and his superior were situated on the planet Nal Hutta, where the Hutt maintained a palace near the industrial settlement of Jiguuna. Another Hutt crime lord, Suudaa Nem'ro, was a major player in the same area, and conflicts between him and Veyaiko's boss were frequent due to competing interests. When the Rattataki mercenary Kaliyo Djannis initially arrived on Hutta, Veyaiko attempted to recruit her to Fa'athra's side in their rivalry with the other Hutt; however, his offer proved insufficient, leading her to align herself with Nem'ro.

In 3643 BBY, the agent from Imperial Intelligence, known as Cipher Nine, arrived on Hutta. Disguised as a mercenary called the Red Blade, the agent intended to persuade Nem'ro to exclusively collaborate with the Empire. The agent began undertaking assignments for Karrels Javis, one of Nem'ro's lieutenants. However, the agent was eventually forced to |Death|kill]] Javis following an incident involving his sons that soured his view of the Empire. To frame Fa'athra's organization and the Republic for the murder, the Blade and Djannis infiltrated Fa'athra's palace to plant fabricated evidence, including Republic technology and footage depicting Republic agents killing Javis. They quickly fought through the palace's security, attracting Veyaiko's attention. The lieutenant initially allowed them to proceed unhindered, hoping they would exhaust themselves against weaker opponents. However, when the Agent reached Fa'athra's archives, the Neimoidian, accompanied by two of Fa'athra's elite guards, confronted them.

Despite his anticipation that the intruders would be weakened, Veyaiko and his guards were defeated and killed by the Agent and Djannis. The pair then proceeded to plant the false evidence, successfully convincing Nem'ro to support the Imperials during the Cold War.

Personality and traits

Nohn Veyaiko had green skin, brown eyes, and lacked hair. He was cautious, letting the Agent and Djannis battle Fa'athra's lower-ranking employees to weaken them before engaging. During their confrontation, Veyaiko was relatively polite, apologizing for their impending deaths and offering to return their heads to their homeworlds after they died. Despite his position as a key lieutenant, he distrusted Fa'athra, believing his employer might sacrifice him. He was even open to abandoning Fa'athra and joining Nem'ro if he believed the other Hutt would be a better employer.

Equipment

Veyaiko wore simple clothing and wielded a vibrosword when facing the Agent and Djannis.

Behind the scenes

Nohn Veyaiko was introduced in the quest "The New Truth," which was part of the Imperial Agent storyline on Hutta in Star Wars: The Old Republic, an MMORPG by BioWare released in 2011. The player can choose to kill Veyaiko for dark side points or no alignment points, depending on when they attack, or attempt to persuade him to defect to Nem'ro for light side points. To persuade him, the player tricks Veyaiko into thinking Fa'athra planned to have him killed, successfully convincing him to join Nem'ro. This article assumes the dark side option was chosen because the agent is an Imperial class.
