Muon Gold
Muon Gold was a type of spice that utilized a lubricant as its base. Users experienced heightened mental acuity and concentration, but only for a brief duration. Due to its eventual degrading effect on the brain's neural pathways, the Galactic Empire prohibited its use. As a result, it was frequently smuggled and consumed as an inexpensive narcotic.
The Bestine Pirates held Muon Gold in high regard, making it their preferred spice. Operating within the Tatoo system, these pirates even named their territory, the Pirate's Gold, in honor of the spice.
The video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, featured Muon Gold before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011.
