Maya Phoenix, a Togruta female, was a student at the Jedi academy located within the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. A dedicated and diligent student, she also participated in the drama club. Her preferred course was Principles of the Force, and she demonstrated a natural talent for using the Force. When alone, she would occasionally sing to her reflection in a mirror, revealing her skill as a singer. In a school production of the popular drama My Fair L8-E, she played the part of Penelope Doodle. Two of her fellow Padawans at the academy, Zachary O'Halleran and Victor Starspeeder, were romantically interested in her, however, her focus at that time was primarily on her academic pursuits.
