Marka Durn, a Human merchant, operated during the era of the Galactic Civil War and maintained friendly relations with the Rebel Alliance. Accompanied by his droid companion, R2-C9, this skilled navigator traversed the Nanth'ri Route aboard his well-worn Ghtroc freighter named DeepHopper.
Durn was once hired by Xishel, a Falleen, with the task of discovering the whereabouts of the legendary pirate Celis Mott's missing treasure. Although Durn successfully located the treasure on a distant asteroid, he was subsequently murdered under Xishel's command. Despite this, Durn had cleverly concealed the treasure's location within the memory banks of his starship's computer, thus thwarting Xishel's plans.
