Synopsis from the Publisher

On a perilous mission to a distant and hazardous planet, Jedi Master Mace Windu faces trials that test his formidable skills, all to honor Qui-Gon's dying wish.

The Jedi Order is shaken by the sudden demise of Qui-Gon Jinn at the hands of a Sith Lord. Jedi Master Mace Windu's feelings toward Qui-Gon have always been complex, a sentiment that hasn't lessened even in death. Despite their disagreements, Mace valued Qui-Gon's unique insights, and their mutual devotion to the Force united them as allies. Mace feels a sense of imbalance in the absence of Qui-Gon and his unconventional viewpoints.

While contemplating the legacy of his departed friend, Mace is astonished to receive a final communication from Qui-Gon, specifically designated for Mace upon Qui-Gon's passing. This message contains a final request: an appeal to assist the Outer Rim planet of Metagos.

Long ago, a catastrophic solar flare transformed the desert planet's surface into a landscape of irradiated glass, as beautiful as it is treacherous. Now, the majority of the remaining population resides underground, where rival clans engage in conflict to control the planet's scarce resources. In his youth as a Jedi, Qui-Gon shielded the Sa'ad farming clan from the planet's more unscrupulous factions. The Sa'ad are practitioners of dream-weaving, preserving their conscious minds during sleep to facilitate communication and coexistence with the planet's wildlife. Qui-Gon pledged to return should they ever require his assistance, but now, the responsibility of fulfilling that promise falls upon Mace. KinShan Nightbird, the Sa'ad's leader, has implored the Jedi for aid in liberating Metagos from the clutches of crime lords who threaten to obliterate her people's way of life.

Driven by his determination to honor Qui-Gon's final wishes, Mace journeys to Metagos and infiltrates the ranks of the Sa'ad's enemies. However, as the Jedi Master delves into the intricate network of adversaries and allies, Mace finds himself pushed to the limits of the Jedi code, challenging his core beliefs and his connection to the Force itself.
