Ludwin Katarkus

Ludwin Katarkus, a Jedi Master within the Jedi Order, operated in the years preceding the outbreak of the Clone Wars. With their Padawan, Danyawarra, and two additional Jedi, they were dispatched on a diplomatic mission with the aim of resolving the Virgillian Civil War. Though the Jedi Master died during this assignment, their Padawan lived, later participating in the Clone Wars. Three weeks following Katarkus's disappearance, their passing was reported via the HoloNet News, and the Jedi Temple announced an upcoming funeral service.

Biography

Serving as a Jedi Master in the Jedi Order, Ludwin Katarkus took Danyawarra as a Padawan at some point before the Clone Wars began. In the year 23 BBY, the Jedi High Council selected Katarkus to act as a diplomatic envoy on a mission aimed at brokering peace in the Virgillian Civil War. This conflict was occurring between the Virgillian Free Alignment and the Aristocracy, and had been raging for two years inside the Virgillia system. The envoy consisted of two Master-Padawan pairs: Katarkus alongside Danyawarra, and Master Everen Ettene together with Halagad Ventor.

During the final month of 23 BBY, the ship transporting the Jedi envoy was destroyed upon its arrival at the planet Virgillia 7. After the diplomatic team was missing for three weeks, the CoCo District Edition of the HoloNet News declared them all dead on 13:2:28 GrS. The same publication also stated that memorial services would be conducted by the Jedi Temple on Coruscant on the following day. Katarkus, along with Ettene, did indeed perish during the mission. However, both Danywarra and Ventor survived the incident and rejoined the Order, later becoming a commander and a general respectively within the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars.
