The Legacy, a starship, belonged to Jedi Master Darrus Jeht during the period of the Clone Wars.
Unlike any other starship registered in galactic archives, the Legacy presented a unique design; some components appeared to be individually crafted, while others displayed Corellian design influences. The ship was constructed with a very efficient hyperdrive, making the Legacy remarkably fast for a vessel of its time.
Construction of some of the Legacy's parts occurred over two thousand years before the decline of the Galactic Republic. By the time of the Clone Wars, the ship was in a disassembled state. During the Clone Wars era, shipments of the starship's components were dispatched to Jedi Master Darrus Jeht from the Taris system. Jeht, along with his associate Trilinae Untaire, investigated these shipments to determine the sender and the reasons for sending the ship, but they failed to uncover the vessel's origins. Jeht began the process of reassembling the ship and, after discovering missing parts, he called in favors to acquire the necessary components, enabling him to restore the ship to operational status.
Jeht subsequently housed the Legacy on his flagship, the Maelstrom. In 19 BBY, shortly following the issuing of Order 66, the Maelstrom engaged the Separatist warship Shadowblade in a battle within the Cularin system. Jeht then instructed Milinae Untaire, Trillinae's sister, and the droid R-0 to pilot the Legacy and escape the conflict to a safe location.
