Knores

title: Knores

A planet situated in the Mid Rim, Knores was located within the Senex sector and distinguished by its well-known red oceans. This world was also characterized by a profound equatorial trench, visually pleasing urban centers, and intense weather patterns. Around 3637 BBY, Fez Burba, a seismologist, put forth the theory that a previous civilization on Knores had met its end because of movements within the planet's crust. Many millennia afterwards, the House Viholn, a group of aristocrats, governed the world.

Description

Within the Knores system, Knores was a terrestrial planet situated in the Senex sector, a component of the Senex-Juvex region, found in the Western Reaches section of the Mid Rim. Hyperspace routes connected it to the Adoris, Nars, and Senex systems.

The surface of the planet was recognized for its celebrated red seas, and a significant trench bisected Knores' equator. Despite its exceptionally violent weather, Knores was considered a beautiful planet.

History

Around 3637 BBY, the seismologist named Fez Burba suggested that a past civilization on Knores had become extinct due to shifts in the world's crust. Subsequently, the future commander of the Eternal Alliance dispatched a companion to Knores. This companion then ventured into the planet's equatorial trench to substantiate Burba's hypothesis.

Sometime between 4 ABY and 9 ABY, Woetar, a Zarian swindler, presented a business deal to a pair of smugglers on the planet Antiquity. One smuggler then alluded to the seas of Knores to the other, expressing a need to accept the Zarian's proposal to alleviate boredom.

Inhabitants

By 3637 BBY, the seismologist Fez Burba theorized that a civilization formerly present on Knores had been wiped out as a result of the planet's tectonic activity. Following the Battle of Ruusan in 1000 BBY, when the Ancient Houses, a group of aristocrats, established dominion over the Senex-Juvex region, House Viholn assumed control of Knores.

Locations

The cities on Knores were aesthetically pleasing, safe, logically organized, but lacked architectural and cultural intrigue.

Behind the scenes

Knores debuted in "Free Time," an adventure for roleplaying created by Gary Haynes for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game by West End Games, featured in the 1992 supplement The Politics of Contraband. The reference book The Essential Atlas from 2009 placed the world in grid square L-17.
