Jessa Dajus

Jessa Dajus, a Human Female from the Legends continuity who possessed sensitivity to the Force, served the Galactic Empire as a tactical officer. Later, she became a member of the crew aboard the New Republic CR90 corvette known as the FarStar.

Biography

Imperial service

As one of Moff Kentor Sarne's most valued officers, Colonel Dajus held the position of an Imperial tactical officer. During her service under him, she discovered that an entity referred to as DarkStryder was the source of the advanced technology Sarne had been conducting experiments with. Dajus investigated this information, possibly with the intention of selling it to contacts within the underworld, but Sarne uncovered her activities. He then imprisoned her within his dungeons and subjected her to interrogation, attempting to extract the extent of her knowledge. Despite enduring the ordeal, she remained steadfast, resulting in several prominent scars on her left arm.

When Page's Commandos launched an assault on Sarne's palace, Dajus was liberated from the detention center. Unintentionally utilizing the Force, Dajus sensed that one of the cell doors was rigged to explode and obliterate the detention blocks. She issued a timely warning to Kaiya Adrimetrum.

On board the FarStar

Dajus presented herself as a mere lieutenant and shuttle pilot, claiming to have been caught in Sarne's "loyalty purges." She then guided the New Republic forces to the Sorbiss Valley hangar where the Renegade, later renamed the FarStar, was located. Despite reservations regarding having a former Imperial officer as a tactical advisor, she was welcomed as a member of the crew. Her extensive knowledge of Sarne and his operations made her an invaluable asset. She continued to wear her Imperial uniform during her time on the ship. Captain Keleman Ciro forbade her from carrying a sidearm on board, but allowed her to carry one during missions.

Personality and traits

Reasons for joining the FarStar

Revenge against Sarne for his mistreatment of her served as Dajus' primary motivation for joining the FarStar mission. However, her fascination with the DarkStryder technology persisted. As the FarStar ventured deeper into the Kathol sector, this motive intensified, driving her to become intensely focused on locating Sarne and DarkStryder. Consequently, she was prepared to disregard or eliminate anything else that stood in her way. She employed bullying tactics on those she could control, or utilized subtle persuasion to achieve her objectives.

Force-sensitivity

Dajus possessed a sensitivity to the Force, although she never acknowledged or believed in its existence. She attributed her good fortune and her ability to anticipate events or gain insights to luck, rather than the Force. This sensitivity served as both her greatest strength and her most significant vulnerability. She was frequently troubled by dreams of massive black spiders enticing her away from the light or pushing her towards darkness. Gradually, Dajus succumbed to the influence of the dark side of the Force, becoming embroiled in a conflict between good and evil. While she supported the crew of the FarStar, she also desired to find Sarne and the source of the DarkStryder technology. Nevertheless, she understood that she needed to harness both aspects of her personality to defeat Sarne.

Secrets

Due to her service under Sarne and her Force-sensitivity, Dajus possessed a wealth of confidential information. As a skilled manipulator, she would strategically reveal this information when it benefited her and aided her in achieving her goals. She was aware of Gorak Khzam's history as a slaver, and Doctor Akanseh's past as a torturer.

Behind the scenes

It is possible that Dajus and Sarne were romantically involved. In a short text excerpt from The DarkStryder Campaign, she awakens from a nightmare to find Sarne sitting on her bed. However, this could have occurred during her imprisonment, with Sarne visiting her in detention.
