Jeeree Kayl, a male Duros individual, existed during the Republic Dark Age within the Odionate Sith territory. As a young boy, Kayl was separated from his parents. He was then relocated to a secluded existence within a bubble dome, situated in an Odionate Cloister facility on the moon of Vanahame. This was the standard practice for all children in the Odionate, designed to mold them into devoted servants of the regime. In 1032 BBY, the Sith Lord known as Odion seized control of the Helm of Ieldis, a Sith artifact crafted by an ancient Sith. Subsequently, he journeyed to Vanahame with the intention of harnessing the negative emotions of the children housed there to fuel his newly acquired relic. To induce despair among the children, Odion instructed his staff to extinguish all lights within the cloister where they were confined. Consequently, Kayl and the other children cried out in terror, having never encountered darkness before. Odion then exploited their fear to launch attacks against his rival Sith Lords using the Helm.
During the Battle of Vanahame, General Beld Yulan, Odion's second-in-command, betrayed his superior. He gained unauthorized access to the control room, compelling the surviving operator, Murl, to reactivate the lights, thus ending the children's state of panic. Following the orders of Jedi Knight Kerra Holt, Yulan liberated the captives, including Kayl, from their bubble domes. As the children celebrated their newfound freedom, Odion's Helm malfunctioned and exploded, resulting in his death in the resulting conflagration. After the battle and the fall of the Odionate, Kerra and Yulan worked together to evacuate the Cloister children on Vanahame to the Galactic Republic. Jeeree was among those who were rescued.
