A male Wookiee by the name of Jaarak resided in Rwookrrorro village, situated on the planet Kashyyyk, back in 3956 BBY.
Jaarak, an elder Wookiee, possessed a strong protective instinct, striving to shield the younger Wookiees from danger, notably the influence exerted by Czerka Corporation slavers who were actively hunting Wookiees on Kashyyyk. Deep within the Shadowlands, Jaarak executed an ambush, resulting in the death of Rorworr. Rorworr had been collaborating with Czerka, assisting them in locating and capturing Wookiees for enslavement. However, because Rorworr was considered a village hero, who led hunting parties into the Shadowlands and fought slavers according to Woorwill, Jaarak sought to conceal the truth behind Rorworr's disappearance to safeguard his reputation and honor.
During his journey to Kashyyyk in 3956 BBY, while searching for the Star Map, the amnesiac Revan came across Rorworr's lifeless body within the Shadowlands. Beside the body, Revan discovered a datapad containing evidence of Rorworr's betrayal and alliance with Czerka, along with a spent bowcaster bolt casing. Having learned of Rorworr's vanishing from Woorwill, Revan presented the bolt casing to Worrroznor, the village's Holder of the Laws, who identified it as belonging to Jaarak. Equipped with this information, the Holder of the Laws summoned Jaarak and Woorwill, along with Revan and his companions, to an inquiry regarding Rorworr's demise. Jaarak, however, declined to defend himself, believing it preferable for an old Wookiee like himself to perish rather than expose the village hero's deceit. Revan, rejecting this notion, insisted on presenting Rorworr's datapad and its contents as evidence.
With Rorworr's treachery brought to light, Jaarak was exonerated of the crime. Given the deceased Wookiee's dishonorable association with slavers, his death at the hands of the elder Wookiee was deemed justified. Although Woorwill was deeply troubled by the trial's events and the revelation of his hero's betrayal, both he and Jaarak remained optimistic about the future. As the one who uncovered the crime, Revan was awarded one-third of Rorworr's wealth, while Woorwill inherited the remainder.
Jaarak exhibited extreme protectiveness towards Woorwill and, mirroring the sentiments of many Wookiees of his time, displayed deep-seated distrust towards outsiders. He committed the act of killing Rorworr due to the latter's disgraceful involvement in slavery, fully aware of the consequences of murder. Believing that the truth would be met with disbelief, and even if accepted, would inflict pain and disillusionment upon the youth, he chose to conceal his actions. When Revan exposed Jaarak's deeds, he experienced considerable fear, recognizing Revan's power to determine his fate and the potential repercussions for the village. Upon the revelation of the truth, he articulated his motives and justifications, and upon being declared innocent, he felt a sense of relief and gratitude towards Revan for his redemption.
The light side quest culminates in the player receiving a reward of four hundred credits.
Should the player follow the dark side path, they have the option to disregard the evidence pointing to Rorworr's involvement as a Czerka slaver, leading to Jaarak's execution for his actions. This decision yields dark side points and a payment of one hundred credits. Alternatively, the sidequest can be bypassed entirely.
Within the game, Worrroznor mentioned a bond between Woorwill and Rorworr, who lacked living blood relatives, though the specifics of this bond remain unclear.
According to the Official Strategy Guide, Rorworr had planned to sell Woorwill to Czerka and had attempted to persuade Jaarak to join him in his slavery endeavors. Jaarak's refusal and subsequent killing of Rorworr stemmed from this disagreement.
