Irith

Irith, a terrestrial planet nestled within the Irith system, was situated within the Hutt Space sector of the Slice. This world, marked by overpopulation and pollution, served as a bustling waypoint along the Ootmian Pabol hyperlane, connecting the Du Hutta and Nar Bo Sholla systems. Famously, Irith was the homeworld of the notorious criminal Romort Raort, who, during his childhood there, extorted lunch money from other children.

The Galactic Empire's Oktos Zone Imperial Outpost on Toydaria utilized hyperwave signal interceptors to monitor lightspeed activity occurring at Irith. The system of Irith was conquered by the Yuuzhan Vong, an extra-galactic military force, sometime between the years 26 ABY and 27 ABY as part of their conquest of the galaxy.

Behind the scenes

The first mention of Irith occurred within the Dark Empire Sourcebook, a 1993 sourcebook by Michael Allen Horne published by West End Games for the Star Wars role-playing game. The Essential Atlas, a reference book from 2009, located Irith in grid square S-11.
