Hrchek Kal Fas was a Saurin droid merchant of the male persuasion who operated throughout the era of the Galactic Civil War. When the farm boy from the local area, Luke Skywalker, and the Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, came to Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina seeking a pilot for transport to Alderaan, Fas was present.
Hrchek Kal Fas, while a tough character, demonstrated intelligence by ensuring the presence of his bodyguard while at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina.
Hrchek Kal Fas made his initial appearance in the 1977 motion picture Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, although he remained without a name in the film itself. His designation as canon was first established within the 2018 reference work, Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition; although not confirmed within the book, in the Legends timeline, he is identified as the cousin of another Saurin, Sai'torr Kal Fas.
